PMI in the Community. A Good Neighbor.
PMI fosters the goal of homeownership by providing access to affordable housing for underserved areas and populations. Through the nonprofit, The PMI Foundation, this mission is fulfilled by supporting national and local organizations that create housing opportunities and help revitalize communities throughout the United States.
PMI also promotes employee volunteer involvement in an ongoing effort to actively contribute to the quality of life in the communities where PMI employees live, work and seek education.
Key initiatives of PMI and The PMI Foundation include Habitat for Humanity, and programs in support of community development, affordable housing, and education.
PMI and Habitat for Humanity. Sharing Habitat’s goal to put families in homes, PMI was named a Cornerstone Partner for Habitat for Humanity in 2003. Internationally, PMI employees volunteer their labor, and The PMI Foundation has contributed generously to over 150 Habitat builds worldwide.
PMI and Social Compact. Through a coalition of business leaders from across the country, Social Compact promotes business investment in underserved communities.
PMI and Junior Achievement. PMI provides financial and staff support to Junior Achievement, the oldest and largest not-for-profit business and economics education organization in the world. Delivered by community volunteers, such as PMI professionals, Junior Achievement programs teach elementary, middle and high school students the value of free enterprise and the basics of business and economics in order to improve the quality of their lives.
PMI and Affordable Housing Initiatives. Working with innovative affordable housing initiatives in cities and rural areas across the U.S., PMI helps to rehabilitate existing housing stock and arrange for the construction of new houses for low-income families, immigrants, and first-time homebuyers.
